Classes and Retreats

Come spend a long weekend in Vermont learning how to weave. I will be teaching beginning weaving in my studio the weekend of June 26, 27, 28 and November 13, 14, 15. Although the class is designed for beginners, class size will be small enough to accommodate students at all levels. Participants will learn the basics of weaving and all skills necessary to create a finished piece of fabric, including project planning, setting up and anatomy of the loom, fabric structures and finishing techniques.

Price for the weekend class is $250, including materials. Please call or e-mail me to register or for more information.

For those looking to stay in Putney, I have collaborated with The Putney Inn to offer a package deal for the weekend.

Classes take place in my studio, located in the old Putney Elementary School, close to the center of Putney. The studio is equipped with thirteen looms, mostly floor looms, with a couple of table looms and a wide variety of equipment. There’s plenty of yarn to choose from…different colors, fibers, textures, and a complete library of weaving books.

I am also looking towards creating a study group, which will meet once every other month to explore more advanced topics in weaving.

For those weavers wanting to continue exploration without having to buy many cones of yarn for each project, I offer the use of my studio and yarn stash. Price is $10 per hour, plus price of yarn, determined by weight.

Weekly beginning classes will resume in September. Private instruction is available. Private instruction is available at the rate of $25 per hour. Looms are available for summer rentals for $25 per month.
